Some of you may be too young to remember when Wu-Tang dropped their first single. It was 1994. I was a junior in college at the time. And even though I attended a HBCU in the South, the New York based group made a huge impact on the Nashville hip hop culture. This was a time when ass shaking deep bass beats were prominent in the south.
The Wu-Tang Clan exemplified the grimy street vibe with superb lyrical execution and New York swag. Each member had their own style and flow but collectively they were untouchable. If you’re an old head feeling nostalgic or a youngin who’s not up on Wu-Tang check out the video below.
