Furious Freestyles: K-Solo and Kurupt

Some hip hop fans would argue that one of the most important talents that separates good rappers from GOATs is the ability to freestyle, the capability to spontaneously come off the head with creative wordplay. No memorized lyrics, just flow.

With the advent of a new generation of rap that has it’s own innovative style, reverence for this skill has lost it’s shine. We at Rap Major wish to highlight this lost aspect of emceeing with an new feature we’re calling Furious Freestyles.

The first installment comes courtesy of two gentlemen who were rather underrated at the height of their careers. Kurupt, some may recall ran with Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound. K-Solo got in the game with the Hit Squad crew headed by old school rap legends EPMD, perhaps best known for his single ‘Your Mom’s In My Business”, and had a brief stint on the Death Row label. These rappers may be dated but their flow ain’t. Click play and enjoy.
